The valuation of life contingencies: A symmetrical triangular fuzzy approximation

This paper extends the framework for the valuation of life insurance policies and annuities by Andrés-Sánchez and González-Vila (2012, 2014) in two ways. First we allow various uncertain magnitudes to be estimated by means of fuzzy numbers. This applies not only to interest rates but also to the amounts to be paid out by the insurance company. Second, the use of symmetrical triangular fuzzy numbers allows us to obtain expressions for the pricing of life contingencies and their variability that are closely linked to standard financial and actuarial mathematics. Moreover, they are relatively straightforward to compute and understand from a standard actuarial point of view.     

Effects of awareness program and delay in the epidemic outbreak

In the present paper, an epidemic model has been proposed and analyzed to investigate the impact of awareness program and reporting delay in the epidemic outbreak. Awareness programs induce behavioral changes within the population, and divide the susceptible class into two subclasses, aware susceptible and unaware susceptible. The existence and the stability criteria of the equilibrium points are obtained in terms of the basic reproduction number. Considering time delay as the bifurcating parameter, the Hopf bifurcation analysis has been performed around the endemic equilibrium. The direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are investigated by using the normal form theory and central manifold theorem. Torsions of 3-Dimensional Small Covers

In this paper,it is shown that for a 3-dimensional small cover M over a polytope P,there are only 2-torsions in H1(M;Z).Moreover,the mod 2 Betti number growth of finite covers of M is studied.     

一般梯形模糊逼近算子及其在模糊运输问题中的应用

研究运输成本信息为一般模糊数的模糊运输问题.首先,在保持一般模糊数的核不变的条件下,建立一般模糊数与一般梯形模糊数的距离最小优化模型,通过求解模型得到一般模糊数的一般梯形模糊逼近算子,并给出该逼近算子具有的性质如数乘不变性、平移不变性、连续性等.然后利用该逼近算子将一般模糊运输信息表转换成一般梯形模糊运输信息表,再根据已有GFLCM和GFMDM算法得到模糊运输问题的近似最优解,最后给出具体算例分析说明方法的有效性和合理性.     

Generalized harmonic number summation formulae via hypergeometric series and digamma functions

By computing the derivatives of five classical hypergeometric summation theorems, and applying the related properties of the digamma function, we derive a large number of closed summation formulae for generalized harmonic numbers.     

On a difference equation of the second order with an exponential coefficient

This paper is devoted to a generalization of some previous results, as we completely solve a linear homogeneous difference equation of the second order with an exponential coefficient.     

Hypergeometric approach to Apéry-like series

By reformulating four hypergeometric series formulae, we derive 36 Apéry-like series expressions for the Riemann zeta function, including a couple of identities conjectured by Sun [New series for some special values of L-functions. Nanjing Univ J Math. 2015;32(2): 189–218].
